todays find
#1
I didn't find very much today. I found a couple buttons and buckles, and a tick crawling up my pants leg. Sad I'm basically getting used to the new forum. Big Grin

You got some old buttons there. Yeah the ticks are almost as bad as the black flies....good thing ticks don't have wings or we'd be in trouble.

I've decided to pick out a pair of pants and a shirt to wear detecting only, and spray them with permethrin tick repellent, and let them dry before wearing them. The stuff is supposed to kill the ticks on contact. They are supposed to be really bad this year.

Hi Earle,
The reason that I'm always dressed the same at hunts is that I do the same thing with my hunt clothes. They are just used for detecting and have been sprayed. The permethrin is supposed to be good through a wash or two.
When I go digging its always with landowner permission.

Hey Todd. Just finished spraying a pair of pants with permethrin. Plan on trying to find a field, and, or a cellar hole this weekend, so hopefully, it will keep the little @#$#@^ off me.

If you have pets, keep the clothes you've sprayed with Permethrin well away from them.

You can buy clothes already treated and they work great.

This is true George. But $100+ for a pair of pants, and $100+ for a shirt that is already treated compaired to a $10 bottle to treat them yourself........well, I can afford the $10 bottle. Big Grin
