If I have a 3 ft or 4 ft sluice ( haven't purchased one yet but will get it from Streeters for sure)  do we need a permit to use it?  And I noticed it said we cannot use any type of small shovel to dig in the river?

I just want to be clear before we head out on Friday.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

No problem in NH,
VT requires a permit and can say no shovels.
NH not many problems
