Hi, I'm Brian from Wakefield, MA. I've had a Whites 5900/DI PRO SL for about 15+ years but have only gone out detecting about a few dozen times. I want to 'rediscover' my interest in detecting and devote more time to hunting. That is why I searched out this site and registered. Interested to hear from other White's 5900/DI PRO SL users. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum Brian. Although I upgraded to a DFX a few years ago, I kept my old 6000 DI Ser 3 for a back up. Your machine is still a good one, but if you ever decide to up grade, the owner of this forum, George, is the man to see. Good luck.

Keep the faith

Hey Brian. Welcome to the forum. The 5900 is still a great analog machine. Many have moved on to newer digital machines but those old DI can still kick some butt. Good Luck! The ground is going to freeze up soon so get out while you can.

Welcome
I am a 43 year dealer and metal detector store and I hear it all the time, I know its old, however know it thoroughly and even if it goes deeper, do not want to change.
Even though you must be happy with your antique, I would recommend  a new Whites Treasure Pro for $379, a White's MX5 for $550. or a Garrett AT Pro for $600 and if you spend $700 or more in December 2015 at Streeters , we will give you a free Garrett Pro  pointer too.
