My friend Raven got permission to detect around an 1800s stone house nearby, so yesterday we hit it with our CTX 3030s. Found some square nails, some toy cars, few modern coins, and trash. I suspect being so close to the main road, it may have been detected quite a bit. Finally, mixed in with a ton of trash signals, I got a 12-14 and dug this 1885 Liberty Nickel. Didn't realize it was the rare date of the series until I looked it up. It's still covered in dirt, afraid to even rinse it off. Hope to get back and check out the house again with the 6" coil and wander the fields with the 17".
